I recently went through the terrifying experience of having a serious medical condition that could have led to life-threatening complications. I went to the MH ED at my primary doctor's direction to address this medical emergency, and Dr. Davis Hsu was the doctor that evening in the ED. Dr. Hsu was disrespectful, interrogative, and unprofessional. He questioned me in a demeaning tone about why I was there, and repetitively insisted that I interpret my own test results, when his job as my physician was to do that. Ultimately, Dr. Hsu refused to even say out loud the complication that had landed me in the ED, and refused to discuss any treatment options. It was very clear to me that he was unwilling or incapable of discussing the issue at hand due the state of current affairs in Texas. Ultimately, Dr. Hsu did not provide adequate care for my medical emergency so I checked myself out and I was able to access care elsewhere. Dr. Hsu is a danger to women and does not demonstrate the ability to provide proper care for women's health issues. If you are facing any medical emergency related to women's health, I would strongly suggest another emergency center, or requesting another physician other than Dr. David Hsu at the MH Memorial City ED.

My husband came at 6:30 AM for an infected hand from dog bite. He passed out while in waiting room and no one even noticed. When he texted to tell me I immediately came there to tell the staff. They acted like it was no big deal. After being there for almost 6 hours we left and went elsewhere .He had not even been looked at by triage and his swollen hand was getting worse by the minute. The staff is either overworked or they just don't care.

Arrived at the ER at 6pm partially triaged as the nurse (Anya or Onya) never looked at the physical location of the issue. Sat and waited for hours. At hour 5 I asked the front desk staff what level of care was I triaged at they got the nurse who tried to play stupid until she realized I knew what I was talking about. Still no help. Was then called to be registered yep 6 hours later. The registrar asked to take pictures of my issue because at that point I was almost unable to walk. Well the pictures worked because I was then called to the back for care.
I submitted a grievance because this er visit for wound care turned into a four day hospital stay. Had the er nurse triaged me correctly everything could have been eliminated. She lied and said she âforgotâ to provide care. Even after I addressed her she did nothing to assist me.
This ER and hospital are money hungry. The videos from the er were never viewed because if they were they would have seen the carelessness of the nurse.
They immediately filed my insurance for my stay once they deemed her care âappropriateâ. Iâve asked nurses and ALL have said in order to triage you have to look at the actual issue.
Better luck treating yourself than coming here.

I came here with my mother on 11/29 the day after Thanksgiving. She's been having chronic nosebleeds for the past couple days at this point, and we decided we needed hospital intervention. We decided to come here because it's the closest to her instead of the location at TMC. The staff was friendly and compassionate with her, but they failed to tell us from the get-go that they did not have an emergency ENT doctor on staff, and that we had to go to the TMC location.
Long story short, we spent 6 hours here just to have her nose packed with no permanent solution. Long wait times probably due to the holidays and not enough staff.

Horrible experience. I see why they don't even have 2 stars. Went to the ER last night with intense back pain. Could barely walk, so bad that it took me 10 minutes to walk from parking to ER (drove myslef since had no one to help me). Finally made it ER and they had me sitting for hours. I get it its normal for ERs. They took an xray and the Dr said I need to have an MRI but they dont do that in ER . Gave me tylenol even though I told him I prevously told him I took some and wasnt working. Gave me a steroid shot which did nothing and sent me back home. This time since I was sitting for hours my back got so much worse. No one offered a wheel chair or nothing just stared at me. Walked back from ER to my car. This time it took me about 30 minutes to get to my car as my pain was so much worse. I had to stop and rest 4 times
Because my back was killing me more from walking. Nurses and Dr just walking past me seeing me suffer not giving a crap. Worst experience of my life. Should have gone to Ben Taub from the get go. They are much more human than memorial hermann. Avoid this place at all cost. Gonna leaving feeling worse than before. Oh but I bet they will send a hefty bill for the nothing they helped with.

Deserves 0 stars WORST experience, arrived at 6:30 pm, was triaged at 8:00 and told to sit back in the waiting room and would be pulled for a CT and labs, itâs now 12:35 am. Still Have never been pulled for CT or labs, several people who arrived after me have been taken back for imaging. When I asked if I could get any type of status update I was told NO. Considering the medical history this is absolutely ridiculous. Itâs like your At LBJ or Ben Taub. But I have commercial health insurance and good insurance at that. STAY AWAY! They donât care about patient care in the ER. Only come if you can get direct admitted

Honestly just close the department down if staff canât be replaced by professionals. Mid November after not being able to go to the first ER of choice due to it being closed we went into this ER on Gessner despite not wanting to because the reviews are a laughable 1. Logan I assume the triage nurse in the ER is absolutely unprofessional, unkind and lacks empathy. I went in because of severe abdominal pain that I could hardly walk nor stand. Logan found me in the lobby and told me to get up that I couldnât be on the floor with a security guard behind him. Logan proceeds to tell me that I can stand up and continue to disregard the pain Iâm in as if Iâm faking the pain. My fiancĂ© had to walk me to the car to let me lay down and he would stand inside for me since Logan said I couldnât be on the floor in the lobby and that I needed to be inside or my name would be skipped. My name ends up being called while my fiancĂ© is waiting inside for me . My fiancĂ©e comes out to get me out of the car (which he parked next to the ER with hazards just so I could be able to lye down and not be skipped) when my fiancĂ© gets me inside Logan and staff is gone . Front desk tells us that we have to wait until they come back out and call us. We wait for a bit during this time I have been trying to convince my fiancĂ© to take me elsewhere since Logan spoke to me that way. My fiancĂ© would not let us leave because I was in severe pain and this being the only ER close by. Logan comes back with a chair which Iâm surprised that he did that standard act of compassion but of course since the beginning of meeting Logan he was sassy and annoyance showed on his face the entire time. Logan needs to find a new career. Healthcare clearly isnât the right space for him. Any woman that has suffered from multiple cyst and ovarian cyst ruptures can tell you if itâs possible to walk or not . It is the absolute worse pain endured in my entire life of being. Going to the hospital for help and being disrespected and belittled while in pain was scary. I would not even recommend a animal to go get care from this facility. It all starts with the first encounters to make an impression on a individual and this one person in ER dept. has made the entire hospital look like a complete failure to trust with your health, and your very life. If you read this do not go to this ER. Men if your wife is pain DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. If you are a woman The womenâs center will take great care of you and make you feel okay to trust them with your health and your life.
