My experience today, with the ER in Salem AR was very poor. I would not recommend anyone use this facility if you have a choice. I was referred to the ER by another clinic to have a blood clot checked. While checking in the admission clerk did tell us there could be a wait but we just drove an hour so decided to wait. People came and went until it appeared we might be next. After waiting over two hours another lady came in with two very sick children and was told the wait would be two hours. Another lady came in with a younger gal and without even checking in admissions forwarded her to the counter in ER where someone came in from the floor and treated her cut on her hand that did not even require a stitch. He cleaned and bandaged it, and sent them on their way in all of ten minutes! This was not fair to those who sat and waited their turn without any triage taking place. I asked admissions about It and she said she did not know anything about it, but she was the one who got her taken care of. I told her to void my paperwork and I would take myself and my bloodclot somewhere else to be seen. I intend to file a formal complaint and hope I never require emergency services that send me to that facility. I read that recently this facility received 2.5 million dollars to improve care services. Today you failed!
Unfortunately for Baxter I am also very vocal when I receive poor or no services, everyone I know will hear about your poor treatment of patients. Linda Fose.

I cannot say anything about the facility itself as I have not been there yet. But based on a call to reschedule an MRI that had me on hold for an hour, I can only imagine what the experience will be like. There is no reason to be on hold for an hour just to reschedule an appt. Scheduling is either picking a date or cancelling a date, hang up and move to the next call. This is insane.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Baxter Regional Medical Center that I feel compelled to share. My child was suffering from severe ear pain, so I took her to the hospital urgently. Unfortunately, the visit turned out to be a nightmare.

Upon finally seeing the doctor, I was shocked by his lack of compassion and willingness to help. Despite my child clearly being in intense pain, the doctor refused to prescribe any antibiotics or offer pain medication. Instead, he nonchalantly told us that we could wait until the next day to get a prescription filled. His dismissive attitude made it seem like he didn't care about my child's immediate discomfort.

We have insurance, so it wasn't a question of cost or trying to get something for free; we simply wanted to alleviate our child’s pain as quickly as possible. The doctor’s refusal to provide immediate relief was both baffling and infuriating.

I understand that doctors must be cautious with prescriptions, but in this case, the lack of urgent care was unacceptable. There was an evident need for immediate pain management, and it was grossly ignored. The experience left us feeling helpless and deeply frustrated.

Overall, I would strongly advise against choosing Baxter Regional Medical Center for emergency situations, especially if compassionate, timely care is what you’re seeking. Our child's well-being was not a priority to them, and I hope to never find ourselves in such a negligent medical environment again. Terrible hospital and I do not recommend it.

I wanted to give a shout out to Jared in the ER. Months ago, he made getting staples in my little girls head as smooth as can be asked for. He was friendly, polite, and gentle. He even poked his head in to say 'hi' during the follow-up visit. Then over these past few weeks, I have had a co-worker, my husband, and a different co-worker also visit the ER with hand/finger injuries. While listening to everyone's 'ER tale' they all had great experiences with thanks to Jared. He is consistently professional, friendly, gentle. I imagine that working in the ER is a heavy mental and emotional load to bare daily and am impressed by such a high level of consistency from someone in that job. Great Job Jared! Thank you for for all you do!

I can't remember the exact name, but there is a male nurse who may be Josiah. They stabbed my arm with a needle seven times, and they stabbed him so mercilessly that he screamed. When everything was over and I was ready to go home, I was in a situation where I had to tie the remaining tape around my chest. The male nurse pulled down my patient gown, completely exposing his chest. I was drugged and dazed and I was shocked by the situation. I saw a strange smile on his face, and when I got home, rested, and thought about it again, I realized that all of this behavior was not right at all.I feel so uncomfortable.

Would give zero stars if possible. I work in the er and am aware of how busy/stressful things can get. They put me in a room and i waited 3 hours and was not seen, updated, offered anything. I walked to the nurses station and found a nurse asleep at the desk. I walked out!
